The DiverseCity Festival was created in 2007 to celebrate diversity, Canadian Multiculturalism, to connect newcomers with established Islanders and to support settlement, inclusion, anti-racism, and retention. In 2014, the DiverseCity Festival expanded to include three Prince Edward Island communities. In 2021, the DiverseCity Festival expanded to five Island communities: Charlottetown, Alberton, Three Rivers, Évangéline, and Summerside. Culture Summerside partners with DiverseCity to present the Summerside festival.
