Summerside’s Historic Ghostwalk Set for October 18th

Culture Summerside – Wyatt Heritage Properties will present its 18th Historic Ghostwalk on Thursday, October 18th. It is a night when volunteer actors take to the streets of historic downtown Summerside to tell the history of Halloween and the darker side of Prince Edward Island history.

Culture Summerside prides itself on producing new stories each year thanks to the research work of the MacNaught History Centre and Archives. The stories are written with all ages in mind, and volunteer actors bring them to life.

Guided tours go every ten minutes from the MacNaught History Centre and Archives located at 75 Spring Street in Summerside beginning at 6:30 pm until 8 pm. Tickets must be pre-booked in order to ensure a tour time. This can be done by calling the archives at 902-432-1332 or dropping in at 75 Spring Street. It is advised to book early as tickets do go quickly as the event continues to grow in popularity each year.

The walk goes regardless of weather, so participants are advised to dress for the elements and wear good walking foot wear. The tour is not scary in the sense that no one jumps out from behind bushes, but the stories will get the imagination working and give their own kind of scary thrill. The tour ends with a glass of hot apple grog.
