April brings with it a new Sixty Days of Fame exhibit at the MacNaught History Centre and Archives in Summerside. It features the work of Summerside artist Lise Genova. The established artist and teacher chose “Rebirth” as the exhibit title to reflect her decision to show new works in groupings that may not necessarily appear to belong together, but for the artist represents a different approach to her subjects.
A gardener at heart, Genova presents paintings of flowers in the exhibit as spring is on the calendar and nature is again recreating itself. She is also showing some of her more imaginative folklore images which depict the life and occupations of the habitants of Prince Edward Island.
“Rebirth” will be on display in the MacNaught History Centre art gallery space starting April 3rd and will run through until the end of May. It can be viewed Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm, free of charge. Meet the Artist Night is set for Tuesday, April 10th from 6:30 pm to 8 pm. MacNaught is located at 75 Spring Street, Summerside.
