The City of Summerside (Culture Summerside) and the Prince Edward Island Department of Education are pleased to host SESQUI, a Canada 150 Signature Initiative (www.sesqui.ca) on Monday, October 2nd and Tuesday, October 3rd, at Credit Union Place, Summerside.
In marking Canada’s 150 years of Confederation, Islanders are being offered an immersive journey into the heart, soul, and future of Canada, through the film HORIZON, shown inside the Science East inflatable dome using revolutionary 360 degree cinematic viewing. The viewer will be in the centre of the action.
HORIZON is an inspiring showcase of Canadian creative expression that unfolds from coast to coast to coast taking the audience on a revealing expedition from the highest peaks to the deepest seas, and through all ten provinces and three territories. Drawing upon artistic inspiration from across Canada’s rich cultural mosaic, the film features traditional and contemporary creative works set in the unforgettable urban and natural landscapes of our diverse nation.
SESQUI will be reserved for school groups until 2:30 pm and then open to the public until 5 pm, with the last viewing starting at 4:30pm. The dome can accommodate 25 people per thirty minute showing. Admission is free. The dome will be located in the Veterans Convention Centre at CUP.
